PlayStation Network User Data At RiskSony's popular PlayStation 3 exclusive online gaming network may have been compromised says a consumer report from the PlayStation website. Users passwords are at risk, making it possible to view private data of the affected accounts.

Sony's PlayStation 3 console, like the other two competing consoles from Microsoft and Nintendo, has it's own online gaming network. Since November 2006, it has been provided free of charge to all owners of a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable console.

However, there has been a news report on the PlayStation website Consumer Alerts section briefly detailing a security breach that could leave affected account's passwords compromised, leaving any personal data at risk. Sony assures in this press release that all accounts do not contain entire credit card numbers.

They seem to be on the situation at the moment, and are investigating why it happened. For now, they urge us all to check our accounts, and if you can sign in then your account wasn't effected.
