Welcome to the new and improved GamerDay, a simple source to the best games you should see.
Since it's beginning in 2004, the webcomic Penny Arcade has attracted thousands to it's popular Penny Arcade Expo at the Washington Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, WA.
As far as conventions go in the game industry, many of them are trade-only events, such as the Electronics Entertainment Expo at Los Angles and the Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas. The Penny Arcade expo was able to attract 39,000 visitors to its show, in a three day long event open to the public.
The writer of the web comic Penny Arcade, Jerry Holkins otherwise known as "Tycho," has announced that a East Coast convention would appear as early as 2010. In order to carry the load of an extra expo, they have partnered with Reed Exhibitions, who has resently worked on the New York City Comic Con.
"PAX is now a partnership. We still run the show, determine all the panels, choose where it takes place, select the bands, pretty much everything. We are its conscience. Reed provides the logistical muscle. So, that's what's going on. An East Coast show is only the beginning."
