Welcome to the new and improved GamerDay, a simple source to the best games you should see.
As rumored by EA this last month, Valve yesterday confirmed that the popular combined bundle of Half-Life 2 and Half-Life: Episode One and Two, the multiplayer game Team Fortress 2, and the hit game of the year puzzle game Portal, will be split into three individual games this April 9th.
When the bundle was released on October 10th of last year, the game became a hit among the Xbox 360, Play Station 3 and the PC. More than a package, the three individual games that make up the Orange Box will, as of April 9th be individually sold as seperate games.
So, if you never bothered to buy this amazing game or you didn't even have the console or you just live under a rock, your days are numbered. As far as anyone knows, Portal will earn a $19.99 price tag when Team Fortress 2 and Half-Life: Episode Two will get @29.99. This all adds up to $80, $30 more than the $50 that you can pay for the package now.
The Half-Life part of this divorce will actually be called the Half-Life 2: Episode Pack. This coming from a screenshot, we can assume that the game includes Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One and Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
This confirmation comes very close to the announcement of Portal being named game of the year. Portal, the popular puzzle game was awarded the title at the Game Developers Conference Awards 08.
