The Metal Gear series is a classic Konami game spanning back to 1987 when the first game-Metal Gear was released to the Commodore 64. Now, dozens of installments later, the series receives a next-gen revival with Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots which is a Play Station 3 exclusive to be released worldwide on June 12.
The news came from Konami at the retailer-only Destination PlayStation event in Scottsdale, Arizona. As detailed, the game will be part of a bundle which will include the 80GB PS3 and its Dual Shock 3 wireless controller and of course Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots. All this for only $499.99, of course. Along with all that, the game will include the Metal Gear Online “Starter Pack" which allows intense multiplayer action within the Metal Gear universe. Those who want to preorder Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots can do so in April. You will also be guaranteed access to a multiplayer beta test for Metal Gear Online scheduled for late April as well so if you don't preorder the game you'll have to wait along time for some action.
